Why Must YOU Remain Resilient?

Before we get started on this topic I want to first explain what Dictionary.com states is the definition of Resilient:

re·sil·ient
–adjective
1.
springing back; rebounding.
2.
returning to the original form or position after being bent, compressed, or stretched.
3.
recovering readily from illness, depression, adversity, or the like; buoyant.

I particularly like the first explanation of what Resilient means and that is Springing Back and Rebounding.

We live in a time that states nothing good is going on in the world today.  For Example when you open up a Newspaper here is a few examples of what you might read:

Everyone is losing their homes, Everyone is declaring Bankruptcy, Everyone is losing their jobs (or is about to), The World is going to Hell in a Hand Basket and all of US are going down with it.

What on earth can you possibly get from this thought process?

How can thinking this way make you feel better?

How will we be able to handle the stress of change and HOW are we ever going to Stand Strong in the FACE of ADVERSITY if we REALLY think this way?

I say these ridiculous statements because I want EVERYONE reading this to know that thinking this way is WRONG..  You see... to BE resilient YOU must be able to Bounce Back NO MATTER WHAT is happening in your life.  You must be able to stand strong NO MATTER WHAT cards you have been dealt in life.

Life is not a matter of being on top of the world all of the time and as a matter of fact YOU will never be on top of the World (When you think you are there...The World Knocks you down again...).  Life is a matter of getting up, dusting yourself off, and moving yourself forward EACH AND EVERY TIME you do get knocked down.

What are the Characteristics of Resilient People?
  • Ability to "bounce back" and "recover from almost anything"
  • Have a "where there's a will, there's a way" attitude
  • Tendency to see problems as opportunities
  • Ability to "hang tough" which things are difficult
  • Capacity for noticing small windows of opportunity and making the most of them
  • Has the mental ability to competently handle most different kinds of situations
So I challenge each and every one of you to read over and over again what the Characteristics of Resilient people are and to ask yourself... "Am I really Resilient? Or am I Just an outward shell of resilience to those around me?"
